Each cake and component is made from scratch at our bakery here in Bellingham. Whether you are looking for a classic flavor profile such as Vanilla with Vanilla, or something more adventurous like our Salt & Pepper cake, we work hard to ensure that our flavor profiles and textures are nothing short of excellent.

When it comes to style, we have a very minimalist and modern approach. Our artistic point of view chooses clean lines over bells and whistles, imploring the use of color and floral elements to really make a cake pop when needed, but otherwise keeping the cake itself very clean and simple.

WHO WE ARE

Although Saltadena is a full service bakery, our wedding program is still very much run in a boutique way. What we mean by this is that we have a very small team and only take on so many weddings each year so that we can give each event the amount of attention and care it deserves. You will work with one person—Nancy, the owner—who handles consultations, design and finishing work, all the way to delivery. Besides that, only a couple other team members assist in baking and prep work. Because of this, again, we only take on a certain amount of weddings each year and it is on a first come, first served basis.


CURRENT BOOKINGs

For the 2024 season, we are currently only booking events that require 42 servings or greater at this time. Smaller events such as cutting cakes get booked starting four months in advance.


PRICING

Multi-tiered cakes start at $7.15/slice with price dependent on design, flavor/component add-ons, etc. Final quotes can only be given with all the necessary information. For example, a 6” + 8” two-tiered cake that serves 42 with a semi-naked finish and no additional fillings or add-ons would be $300.


DELIVERY MINIMUMS

Below are our order minimums for delivery:
Within 10 Miles…..$250
Within 20 Miles…..$500
Within 40 Miles/Lummi Island…..$750
Within 100 Miles/All Other Islands (besides Whidbey)…..$1,000
Delivery costs vary. Travel expenses such as lodging and ferry fees are also additional, when applicable. Venues outside of the 100 mile range, as well as most island deliveries, require an additional lodging fee.


tasting options

We have two different options for tastings. Please read about both and decide which one best suites your needs.

PLEASE NOTE: Availability for in-person tasting consultations is limited and therefore reserved to those requiring 80 servings or greater.

Tasting Consultations
Tasting consultations are where you and up to two guests meet with Nancy in-store for up to an hour. During this time, you’ll be able to try four cake flavor combinations of your choice, plus a couple of treats of our choosing. These consultations are reserved for those with looking for 80 servings or greater (approximately a 100 person guest count), and cost $65 (weekday rate) or $85 (weekend rate).

 
 

Take-Home Sampler Cakes
We also have the option of our Take-Home 6” 2-Layer Sampler Cake which is a great way to share with more folks or just get a sense of different flavor options if you already know what you’re wanting design-wise. Below you will find the current schedule, as well as what flavors will be included on that particular date’s pickup. This gets updated every month, so if you can’t make these dates, don’t worry! We do them all the way through April.

If you would like to go this route for your tasting, please include the pickup date(s) you’d like on your intake form.
